The Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos has granted bail to embattled Nollywood actress, Oluwadarasimi Omoseyin aka Simi sola Gold, who got arrested for spraying the new naira notes at a wedding party in Lagos.
Simi Sola Gold was arraigned before the court on Monday, February 13, by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
The presiding judge, Justice Chukwujekwu Aneke, granted the actress bail in the sum of N5 million with one surety in the same sum while ruling on the case on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, according to Channel Television.
The surety must also be a public servant in the service of the Federation or the Lagos State Government with a rank not lower than Grade Level 12, or the holder of a genuine statutory certificate of occupancy of a developed landed property within the Lagos State Municipality, according to the judge.
The court also ruled that the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the original statutory certificate of occupancy of the landed property must be deposited with the Registrar of the court and, in the case of the public, with the local government.
