Alejandro Garnacho and Diogo Dalot are both back in the starting lineup as Erik ten Hag gives Marcel Sabitzer his first Manchester United start on Wednesday night when the Red Devils host Leeds in the Premier League.
Garnacho has replaced the injured Antony, and Sabitzer has replaced Casemiro who was dismissed against Crystal Palace.
Jadon Sancho had hoped to replace the Brazilian but has been sick all week and is only considered healthy enough to sit on the bench.
Due to Aaron Wan-illness Bissaka’s and inability to play, Dalot has been reinserted into the starting lineup at Old Trafford.
Ten Hag told MUTV that Sabitzer was thrust into the lineup shortly after signing on loan from Bayern Munich because “he [Sabitzer] is experienced, understands football and the way we want to play.” Therefore, I am convinced that our team and midfield are strong today.
The United manager also gave Garnacho high praise, adding that a streak of standout performances off the bench have earned him a berth in the starting XI.
Ten Hag remarked, “He has such an impact [from the bench] to change the game.” Additionally, he wants to start and play every minute, therefore this is a fantastic chance for him to do so.
“I believe he was also extremely good in many of the games prior when he was in the starting eleven.”
Despite having hamstring issues, Dalot is now healthy and uses Wan-ailment Bissaka’s to his advantage because the Englishman has been doing well.
After the World Cup, Dalot “played matches,” but then “relapsed,” according to Ten Hag. He is now prepared. He had good training. He spent the last few days participating in group training. I believe he is prepared to begin.
David De Gea is the goalkeeper for the entire Manchester United squad, which also includes Dalot, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Luke Shaw in the back four.
With Anthony Martial still on the field, Fred joins Sabitzer in midfield, with Garnacho, Bruno Fernandes, and Marcus Rashford lining up behind Wout Weghorst.
