After reaching 50 Premier League assists, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold chose his personal favorite assist in the club’s Jersey.
Since moving up to the senior ranks at Anfield, the Liverpool right-back has been a consistent supplier of assists, with 53 attempts set up for appreciative teammates in English top-flight competition.
Many of them were noteworthy, but for Alexander-Arnold, one sticks out above the rest.
When Arnold’s stunning 95th-minute corner against West Brom at The Hawthorns was nodded in by Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson, it helped Liverpool secure a top-four finish and Champions League qualification during the 2020/2021 season.
When asked about his favorite assist, Alexander-Arnold responded to Premier League Productions:
“My favorite would be Ali’s (Alisson). Given that it’s a corner, it’s probably the simplest from a technical standpoint, but the significance of it is absurd”.
“I believe it is significantly underappreciated and that people are unaware of how important that goal was to us”.
“If it sounds better, I could lie and claim I aim for Ali (Alisson), but I didn’t, he continued”.
“I won’t lie, though; it was a good ball. It was a really specific objective”.
“The other day, I was discussing this with my friends, and we agreed that the only way this aim could improve is if it were for the title“. He said
