Gabriel Martinelli, a forward for Arsenal, has agreed to a “long-term” contract extension, the Premier League’s top club said on Friday.
In his fourth season in north London, the 21-year-old Brazil international has seven goals to help Arsenal’s title chances.
The duration of the agreement was not disclosed by the club, but manager Mikel Arteta referred to it as “a new long-term contract.”
In the club’s announcement, Arteta said, “Gabi is still very young, so we know there’s still much more to come from him and it’s terrific that we’ll embark on this adventure together.”
Martinelli wasn’t mentioned in the press release.
This season, the forward has started each of the 19 league games. Since joining Arsenal from Sao Paulo club Ituano in July 2019, he has played in 111 games.
