Atletico Madrid has offered Joao Felix to Newcastle United after Chelsea decided against making a permanent deal for him.
Felix wanted to stay at Stamford Bridge, but Mauricio Pochettino, the Blues’ new manager, declined to give him a permanent contract.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone does not prioritize the winger, and the Rojiblancos have reportedly made an offer to Newcastle United in an effort to move the striker.
The chance exists that the Magpies will sign him on a loan basis, much like Chelsea did, and pay his weekly salary of nearly £200,000.
Newcastle is unwilling to change its salary structure, thus the high wages could become a barrier.
Eddie Howe, the manager, acknowledged that it is challenging to “attract the very, very best players on the market” since they are not a club that will pay their players high salaries.
