Soldiers providing security for the governorship and House of Assembly elections in Enugu have arrested 140 thugs allegedly deployed to disrupt the on-going poll, reports.
According to Informations from different sources to our correspondent, the hoodlums were picked up on Saturday at a popular Carolina hotel, Nsukka.
Also, three hoodlums were arrested at the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Nsukka.
According to a security source, the thugs who were fully armed with weapons including AK-47 rifles have confessed to having been deployed by the chairman of the local government, Walter Ozioko.
Meanwhile, efforts to speak to Ozioko were unsuccessful as he could not pick up his call.
