Reports suggest that Roberto Firmino will be leaving Liverpool as a free agent at the end of the 2022-23 campaign.
The Brazilian forward joined the club in 2015 for a fee of £29 million ($35m) from Hoffenheim and has since become a Champions League and Premier League winner, as well as the record goalscorer as a Brazilian in England.
During his time at Liverpool, Firmino has made 353 appearances, scoring 107 goals and providing 78 assists. He holds the record for the most goals (78) scored by a Brazilian in the Premier League.
Despite scoring nine goals for Liverpool this season, Firmino is no longer a guaranteed starter and has reportedly informed the club of his decision to move on.
While manager Jurgen Klopp expressed a desire to keep the 31-year-old, Sky Deutschland reports that he has decided to pursue a new adventure.
Firmino’s time at Liverpool has been fruitful, winning seven trophies and forming a formidable partnership with Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
He leaves Anfield with a collection of winners’ medals from the Champions League, Premier League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, and Community Shield.
As he has decided not to agree on a contract extension at Liverpool, Firmino will now be open to offers from interested parties, including clubs outside of England who have been able to speak with him since January.
