Ex England and Manchester United defender, Gary Neville says that Chelsea Manager, Graham Potter is under pressure at the club after another disappointing result over the weekend.
According to Gary Neville, Graham Potter is currently facing immense pressure at Chelsea due to their recent poor performance in the Premier League.
Despite spending vast amounts of money on new players during the January transfer window, the team is currently struggling and sitting at the 10th position in the league table.
This was made worse by their defeat to the bottom-placed team Southampton at home, which resulted in booing from the fans. Potter has faced a tough initiation since joining the club from Brighton, but Neville urges the Chelsea owners to maintain their support for him despite the challenging situation
In a recent episode of the Gary Neville Podcast, Neville stated,
“Potter is clearly under a lot of pressure, which is apparent from his facial expressions. The missed opportunities during the second half of the game, coupled with the boos from the fans at full-time, adds to the ominous feeling surrounding the situation”
“I believe the owners of Chelsea will want to act morally. They invested a lot in Graham and his crew because they fired Thomas Tuchel as manager fairly early in the season, owned their new manager, and brought in recruitment assistants with him. but if they want to see it through, they must maintain their composure.”
Chelsea remain 10th on the Premier League table with 31 points.
