Borussia Dortmund secured a resounding 6-0 victory over VfL Wolfsburg, with Karim Adeyemi and Jude Bellingham both scoring twice.
This win keeps Dortmund in close pursuit of Bundesliga leaders Bayern, with only three games remaining in the season.
Dortmund dominated the game, scoring three goals in the first half and three more in the second. Wolfsburg’s defense was riddled with errors, making it easy for Dortmund to score.
The game was played in front of a sold-out crowd of over 81,000 fans. Dortmund opened the scoring in the 14th minute with a header from Adeyemi, his fifth goal of the season.
Wolfsburg had a chance to equalize in the 20th minute, but their shot was blocked and their rebound missed the target.
Instead, Dortmund scored again in the 28th minute when Adeyemi provided a precise assist for Sebastien Haller to tap in. Julian Brandt then assisted Donyell Malen for another goal in the 37th minute.
In the second half, Dortmund picked up where they left off, with Bellingham scoring a goal that initially bounced off the bar before going in.
Wolfsburg’s poor defending continued, and Adeyemi scored his second goal in the 59th minute. Although he had a chance to score a hat-trick with a penalty in the 65th minute, Adeyemi missed the shot.
Bellingham scored his second goal of the game in the 86th minute, putting an end to Wolfsburg’s misery. Dortmund are now just one point behind Bayern, who won 2-1 against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
