Nigerian Singer, Joseph Akinwale better known as Joeboy has taken to his Instagram page to narrate how he was badly treated at St Lucia after his DJ used a cuss word unknowingly.
He said they were not informed that swearing was not allowed on the stage but they chose to cut him off even after he apologized.
Joeboy while speaking the unfortunate incident said he was very willing to go ahead with the performance but the organizers threatened to call the security on him if he doesn’t exit the stage
He further apologized to the crowd at St Lucia who waited for him to perform and promised he would be back to continue what he started.
He wrote
“I travelled over 40 hours to be with you
guys and I was super excited to be
performing here for first time in St Lucia.
However, I couldn’t perform today due to issues from the organisers. I tried all
my best to give you the best performance
today but my set was cut off and my DJ
taken off the stage.
” My DJ was taken off because he said “Make some fucking noise”. We were not given any memo that we couldn’t use any curse words on stage.
“My DJ immediately apologised to the
crowd but his Mic was cut off. I was still
willing to perform but I was told I couldn’t
and one of the promoters threatened to call security on us and also get us arrested. It was later decided that I
couldn’t perform. To my fans in St Lucia,
I will certainly come back for you.
Pondeck ”
Joeboy also called out the show organizer with the name ‘Dedusky’ for disrespecting him and his team through out their time in St Lucia.
“One thing everyone knows about me is that I am not a difficult person. I am passionate about my work and what I do and I don’t take it for granted.
“@dedukeosy You have been very difficult to work with these past couple of days. What you did throughout the trip was absolutely unacceptable. From the first rehearsal to the second, up until I was
supposed to perform.
“You continually sidelined myself and my team and I was still trying to remain calm and professional. You were also overly
disrespectful to my team today and went
as far as insulting my manager, that is
something I will never stand for.
“I would have thought as we are all Nigerians, we would look after each-other both home and abroad. Do better.”
