Popular Afrobeat musician, David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has revealed that he landed his first endorsement deal worth millions of naira at 17.
The “Dami Duro “crooner stated this during a recent interview on his career success.
Davido while speaking on how far he has come as a singer, disclosed how telecommunication giant, MTN, reached out and offered him an endorsement deal worth 20 million naira at 17.

He stated that N20m was a lot of money for him at the time as he had only two successful songs making the airwaves. He added that the experience opened his eyes to the immense financial possibilities within the music industry.
After the lucrative offer, the father of 3 gained the confidence to pitch his music career to his dad, who bought into his vision and built a studio for him.
He said” I remember When MTN, it’s like a telecommunication company reached out to me and was like oh they want to give me an endorsement, Then I was like how much? They said 20 million. Then I was 17 and nobody was seeing that from music and it’s just like 2 songs. When I showed it to my dad, he was like and gave me some money.. built me a studio and I released my first album. “
