Popular US born Afrobeat artist, David Adeleke known as Davido has revealed during his album tour that he spent nothing less than $2M on his latest project, ‘Timeless’.
Davido said he spent two million dollars on his latest album and has profited more in just three days after the release.
He made this known on his latest interview with Ebro Laura styles Rosenberg show in Texas.
On this podcast episode Davido talked about the Afro beat industry, his album, relationship with Burna Boy and Wizkid.
He also talked about Nigeria in a positive light, he said Nigeria is like New York while Ghana is like California, implying that everything is in Lagos, the good, bad and the calm.
Speaking on the afro beat music industry, Davido noted that the afrobeat music industry has grown so big and it’s widely accepted in the world today. He said that contrary to what people think, there is so much unity in the industry.
When asked about his relationship with Burna Boy, He said he is cool with the portharcourt born singer and they have talked a few times. He also revealed that he use to be very close to him before their beef.
Davido said his relationship with Wizkid is cordial, revealing that the singer checked up on him and called every week when his son died.
Speaking on his album ‘Timeless’ and the cost of putting it out, the DMW boss said he probably spent Two million dollars on the album.
In his words ” Not only the features, tryna shoot videos, tryna get some cleared. You understand what I’m saying. My last album, I tell you. I probably spent Two million dollars. That’s with everything and I have made more in three days. You know it just shows the level where African music is going to but I tell you this, everything is changing, things changes.”
