Willian, the Fulham forward, has expressed regret over his decision to leave Chelsea and join Premier League rivals Arsenal in 2020.
After spending seven successful years at Stamford Bridge, where he won multiple titles, Willian left on a free transfer due to a failure to reach an agreement for an extension.
Despite enjoying his time at Fulham, the Brazilian admits that he wishes he never left Chelsea. In an interview with Sky Sports, he said
“It’s life. I’m happy now at Fulham, enjoying myself there, but when I stop and think about all the situations, I say to myself ‘I wish I never left’.”
Willian struggled to make an impact at Arsenal and left after just one season.
When asked what went wrong, the 34-year-old could not provide a clear explanation, saying,
“I was excited when I signed with them. I was training hard, but it just didn’t work, and that’s it.”
