Inter Milan secured the Coppa Italia this season with a 2-1 win over Fiorentina, thanks to a brace from Lautaro Martinez.
Although La Viola took an early lead through Nicolas Gonzalez’s goal, Martinez quickly responded with two exceptional finishes to put Inter in the lead before halftime.
Inter has already won the Supercoppa Italiana, and they are set to face Manchester City in the Champions League final.
Gonzalez’s early goal gave Fiorentina hope for their first piece of silverware in 22 years, but Martinez’s two goals before halftime proved decisive.
Despite Fiorentina’s repeated attempts to score in the second half, Inter held on to their lead.
Fiorentina will have another opportunity for silverware in the Europa Conference League final against West Ham in two weeks.
Meanwhile, Inter’s victory will boost their confidence ahead of the Champions League Final against Manchester City’.
