Luton Town captain, Tom Lockyer collapsed during the Championship play-off final against Coventry at Wembley Stadium on Saturday and he is still in the hospital
According to manager Rob Edwards, Lockyer was taken to hospital immediately after collapsing just eight minutes into the game.
The captain is currently undergoing various tests and checks under the care of the best medical experts.
Edwards stated that the team has been in constant contact with Lockyer and that he was texting the manager, expecting to be discharged on Tuesday.
“He’s OK, he is still in hospital at the moment. He is having lots of tests and checks and is with the best people. Hopefully, he will be discharged soon”. Edwards told BBC Radio 5 Live.
After the game, Lockyer was seen celebrating his team’s victory on Instagram, though he remains in the hospital for now.
Luton Town eventually won the game on penalties and Secured promotion to the English Premier League for next season.
