Six injured Real Madrid players, including striker Karim Benzema and goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, will not be traveling to the Club World Cup.
Defenders Éder Milito, Ferland Mendy, Lucas Vázquez, and forward Eden Hazard will also not be traveling to Morocco.
If Madrid advances to the final, Benzema, Courtois, and Milito are all still eligible to play, but none of the others are anticipated to.
Madrid will make its competitive debut on Wednesday against the Egyptian team Al Ahly.
Seven times in total, Madrid has won the world club championship, including three times when it was still known as the Intercontinental Cup.
