Paris Saint Germain Manager, Christophe Galtier has officially announced that Lionel Messi will leave the club at the end of his current contract, which ends this season.
Reports suggest that Messi has received a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, where he would once again face off against Cristiano Ronaldo.
While there have been rumors of Barcelona potentially re-signing the star player, it appears that this possibility has fizzled out.
Galtier said of Messi leaving:
“I had the privilege of coaching the best player in the history of football. It will be Leo’s last match at the Parc des Princes against Clermont”
Meanwhile, some unexpected rumors have surfaced regarding the Premier League as a potential destination for Messi.
Despite his impressive performance this season with 16 goals and 16 assists in Ligue 1, Messi is now seeking a new challenge.
Saudi Arabia seems to be the most likely option, as he had previously traveled there without the club’s permission, resulting in his suspension, and the president of the Saudi FA has expressed interest in acquiring his services.
