Osimhen stands on the brink of becoming the first-ever African player to secure the coveted Serie A golden boot.
His remarkable tally of 47 goals in the Italian topflight division surpasses the previous record set by the current Liberian president, George Weah.
Taking to Twitter to acknowledge the national honor bestowed upon him, Osimhen conveyed his feelings of immense gratitude and blessedness, announcing
“I feel so blessed and honored to announce that I have been awarded the prestigious Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) award by the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Additionally, i made my 100th appearance for Napoli, where I was fortunate enough to contribute two goals to my club’s success.”
Osimhen’s impressive performance extends beyond his club achievements. He has also displayed his scoring prowess for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, finding the back of the net 15 times in 24 games.
