Palpable tension has gripped residents of the Toru-Angiama community in Patani Local Government Area of Delta State as two farmers were reportedly killed in the community by suspected herdsmen on Monday.
Punch Reported that the incident occurred in the early hours of the day when the two persons were gruesomely killed in their farms unprovoked.
The deceased persons were reportedly found lifeless in their farms and were discovered to have been butchered to death by the yet-to-be-identified attackers.
The cause of the gory incident could not be ascertained by our correspondent.
Sources said that herders had been intimidating and harassing residents in the area in recent times.
The Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, could not be reached for comment on the killing as of the time of filing this report.
