According to The Times, Mauricio Pochettino is rumored to be interested in a return to Tottenham Hotspur if Antonio Conte departs.
Conte is currently being linked with Inter, and Pochettino is reportedly willing to come back to the club that he served for five and a half years before being sacked in November 2019. Pochettino, who transformed Tottenham into Premier League and Champions League contenders during his tenure, remains a popular figure among the club’s supporters.
Meanwhile, the current Tottenham boss has a contract with the club until 2024, but he has expressed his admiration for Italy and is rumored to be a target for Inter. He has also been linked with a possible return to Juventus, his former club.
Conte has had a difficult season at Tottenham, both on and off the pitch, and has been away from the touchline recently after gallbladder surgery.
He is expected to return for the second leg of Spurs’ Champions League last-16 tie against Milan.
After leaving Spurs, Pochettino managed Paris Saint-Germain for a year and a half, but was dismissed by the club last summer.
He is the only manager in Tottenham’s history to guide the club to a Champions League final, which they lost against Liverpool in the 2018-19 season.
