Juventus Midfielder, Paul Pogba had to leave the field due to injury during his first competitive start in over a year, after just 24 minutes of play against Cremonese.
The 30 year old pulled up with a left thigh injury as he crossed the ball and required treatment. Despite the setback, Juventus went on to win the game 2-0.
Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, expressed disappointment at the injury, saying that Pogba was playing quite well. Allegri noted that there is always a risk of injury when a player has been out of the game for a year.
Pogba’s last game for his former team, Manchester United, was in April 2022, and he suffered a calf injury which ruled him out for the rest of that season.
After rejoining Juventus in the summer, he suffered a knee injury during pre-season but chose not to undergo surgery, fearing that it would cause him to miss the World Cup in Qatar.
However, he eventually needed surgery and suffered another muscular problem that delayed his return to the field.
Pogba played his first game of his second spell with Juventus on 28 February, and has made nine substitute appearances in total before being selected for the starting side against Cremonese.
Unfortunately, he had to leave the game due to the new injury. Nicolo Fagioli and Bremer scored after halftime to secure a win for Juventus, who are in second place. Cremonese is currently in 19th place, six points from safety, with three games remaining.
