Reece James will miss the remainder of the season, according to interim Chelsea manager Frank Lampard, and Mason Mount is “unlikely” to play in any of the last seven games.
After a diagnostic for a hamstring issue, James has been ruled out, while Mount has a pelvic injury.
“Mason Mount and Reece James will both be out for the remainder of the campaign” according to Lampard.
“Reece suffered a hamstring injury during the game last week”
“He made it through, underwent a scan, and was then discharged. Lampard continued
“Mason’s Pelvic injury has been there for some time”.Â
“He has been trying as usual, but he will need a quick procedure, followed by a four-week recovery”.
“He [Mount] might make the final game, but that’s doubtful, which is obviously disappointing for us.”
James and Mount are expected to miss the Final seven games of what has been a disappointing season for Chelsea so far, starting with the game against Brentford on Wednesday.
