According to sources cited by BBC Sport, Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani has submitted an improved offer to purchase Manchester United completely.
The new offer was received on Tuesday morning during an ongoing discussion involving the Raine Group, who are managing the sale.
Along with Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s Ineos Group, the Qatari banker is one of the two primary bidders for the Old Trafford club, with both parties having submitted their third offers at the end of April.
It is believed that the new bid is for the complete acquisition of the club, tje bid will also pay off all of United’s debts, and includes a dedicated fund aimed solely at the club and its local community.
In March, it was reported that United owed £969.6m in gross debt, bank loans, and unpaid transfer fees with associated payments.
The Glazer family, who announced in November that they were considering selling Manchester United as they “explore strategic options,” have not given any indication as to when they will make a decision regarding the future direction of the club.
