According to reports, Chelsea’s defender Thiago Silva is expected to miss two crucial matches against Leeds United and Borussia Dortmund due to a knee injury.
Silva sustained the injury during Chelsea’s 2-0 loss against Tottenham on Sunday and will undergo scans on his left knee.
The Times reports that he is likely to be sidelined for at least a week, which is a significant blow for Chelsea, as they prepare to face Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday and Borussia Dortmund in a crucial Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie.
Currently trailing the German giants 1-0 on aggregate, Chelsea will have to find a way to overcome the deficit without their influential defender.
It is worth noting that Chelsea’s head coach Graham Potter is under pressure following a disappointing run of results, which has seen the team fail to win in their last six matches in all competitions
