Tottenham Hotspur has initiated an investigation into an alleged incident of racial abuse directed towards Son Heung-Min during their recent Premier League match against Crystal Palace.
A video circulating online shows an individual in the away end making racial gestures towards the forward.
In response to the incident, the club released a statement confirming the investigation and collaboration with the Metropolitan Police and Crystal Palace.
The statement also expressed the club’s condemnation of discrimination of any form and its commitment to ensuring strict action against the perpetrator.
Crystal Palace has also released a statement on the incident, declaring that the individual involved, when identified, will face a club ban, and the evidence has been shared with the police.
Tottenham Hotspur went on to win the match 1-0 through Harry Kane’s goal, ending their four-game winless streak. The club is set to play against Aston Villa in their next Premier League fixture on May 13th.
