During a Serie C match between Lecco and Piacenza, a strange incident occurred where ex-Juventus forward Cristiano Bunino was sent off for urinating on the pitch.
Bunino, who was named on the bench, was due to be introduced as a second-half substitute, but before he could even kick a ball, he was shown a red card.
In the 73rd minute, Lecco coach Luciano Foschi decided to bring Bunino on, but the 26-year-old chose to answer the call of nature by the side of the pitch.
His actions were spotted by the assistant referee, and he was promptly sent off.
Despite Bunino’s attempts to hide what he was doing, the match officials were not fooled, and he was sent off before he could even make an impact on the game.
Coach Foschi expressed disappointment with the decision, stating that he was hoping for a yellow card instead.
The game ended in a 0-0 draw, with Bunino unable to contribute to his team’s efforts. As a result of his unusual offense, he will now have to serve a suspension.
