Former Netherlands Striker, Quincy Promes has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for stabbing his cousin in the knee.
The incident happened at a family gathering in July 2020, and a Dutch judge found the Spartak Moscow forward guilty of assault.
According to his attorney, he will appeal, reports Dutch network RTL.
Promes, who has also played for Sevilla and Ajax, is a resident of Russia and was unable to appear in court.
Last month, Dutch authorities also brought charges against the 31-year-old for his alleged involvement in cocaine trafficking.
