Following the release of new song titled ‘Yakubu’ that mocked INEC chairman Popular Nigerian rapper and lawyer, Folarin Falana better known by his stage name, Falz has appeared on Arise TV to speak on the outcome of the general elections and his new song titled ‘Yakubu’
The ‘Yakubu’ singer said he doesn’t fear death and would go down for a just cause.
He was a guest on the TV station where they talked about music as a social political tool.
When asked what the music video was all about, Falz said the video was self explanatory even for those who didn’t witness the general elections.
” As you said pretty much, just an account of event as they have transpired, couple of months with the entire episode, with the election and everything as they’ve played out.
“That’s pretty much what it is. It is self explanatory, You follow the story from beginning to end, even you weren’t present when all these things were happening You’ll be able to just by listening and watching this video to have a clear summary of what happened and that’s what we are trying to achieve with the record. “
When asked if he was ever scared of releasing the song which could provoke the government to come after him, Falz said he is never scared of death and would happily go down fighting for a just cause.
Speaking on his choice of Candidates in the general elections, he said when he decided to cast his votes in the elections, he was looking for competence, someone who would get the job done, regardless of tribe and religion.
He also added that everyone has the right to chose who they want to support because it’s a democracy but they should look beyond religion and ethnicity.
Responding to the rumors that he released the Yakubu video in London
“I’m always ground, I have released tons and tons of music videos and I’m always when I release them. Everyone knows where to find me if anyone wants to find me. I have no reason to fear anything” Falz said
