French Defender, Raphael Varane has expressed that Manchester United could potentially be his final club, however, he also acknowledges the possibility of returning to his previous clubs, Lens or Real Madrid.
The 29-year-old French center-back is pleased with the positive turn of events that have occurred for both him and the Red Devils in his second season at Old Trafford. Varane’s contract is valid until 2025, and he considers not transferring to another club as a “serious option”.
In an interview with GQ in France, Varane stated that he intends to end his career at either Real Madrid, Manchester United, or Lens, with the latter being his preferred option.
“I have made a decision to end my career either at Real Madrid, Manchester United, or Lens. I am certain that I will not join another club, but returning to Madrid appears to be complicated since it’s uncommon to do so. It is more likely that I will end up at Manchester United or Lens”.
Varane believes that returning to Madrid may be challenging as it is uncommon for players to return to their previous clubs. Therefore, it is probable that he will conclude his career at Manchester United or Lens.
Varane has made more than 50 appearances for Manchester United since his move from Real Madrid in 2021, scoring one goal. He has also won the Carabao Cup Trophy since then.
