Ahead of their game against Arsenal this weekend, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided updates on some of his injured players.
During his press conference earlier today, Klopp said that winger Luis Diaz will be making his comeback from injury in their game against Leeds at Elland Road on 17 April.
Diaz had been out since October with a knee issue, but he has now resumed full training. Despite this, he is not expected to be risked in the match against Arsenal on Sunday.
Klopp stated that they need to be cautious with Diaz’s return due to the severity and length of his injury.
“We need to be cautious because it was a long, long injury, even though everything looks good and fine,” said Klopp.
However, midfielder Thiago Alcantara is set to be available for the game against Arsenal after being out for two months with a hip injury.
Defender Virgil van Dijk, who missed the midweek goalless draw with Chelsea due to illness, is also in the squad and has returned to training as usual.
Klopp mentioned that Thiago’s return looks more promising than Diaz’s and that they will assess his condition before making a final decision.
