Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo by 2-0 in the La Liga thanks to goals from Marco Asensio and Eder Militao.
Vinicius Junior’s cutback into the area was followed by a first-time finish from Asensio to start the scoring.
Three minutes into the second half, Eder Militao blasted a header from Asensio’s corner to give Carlo Ancelotti’s team the win.
Celta’s best opportunity came from Iago Aspas, who had just goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois to beat, but the Belgian made a superb stop.
Before scoring, Los Blancos had a few half-chances, with Aurelien Tchouameni missing wide and Karim Benzema missing wide from 25 yards.
Their first shot on goal, by Asensio, came in the 42nd minute, and Militao’s headed second goal early in the second session virtually ended the game as a battle.
On Sunday, Barcelona will welcome Atletico Madrid at home with an eight-point lead over Real at the top of the standings.
