Salernitana dealt a blow to Inter Milan‘s hopes of finishing in the top four after a 1-1 draw on Friday. Antonio Candreva, formerly of Inter Milan, scored a 90th-minute equaliser, while his teammate Guillermo Ochoa made several outstanding saves.
Inter Milan took the lead in the sixth minute when Robin Gosens scored his first goal since November after Romelu Lukaku headed the ball into his path.
Despite creating several more chances, Inter Milan failed to extend their lead due to Ochoa’s saves. Senegal forward Boulaye Dia almost scored an equaliser for Salernitana, but his shot hit the crossbar.
However, Candreva had the final say when his intended cross ended up in the top corner, giving Salernitana a point.
Despite the draw, Inter Milan moved level on points with AC Milan but remained in fourth place, with their arch-rivals playing Empoli later in the day. AS Roma, in fifth place, are only one point behind. Salernitana is currently in 15th place with 29 points.
