West Ham United claimed their first major trophy in 43 years with a last-minute goal from Jarrod Bowen to defeat Fiorentina 2-1 and win the Europa Conference League in Prague.
The match appeared to be heading to extra time after Giacomo Bonaventura’s well-taken goal cancelled out Said Benrahma’s second-half penalty just seven minutes later.
The game was tense and occasionally hostile, with West Ham supporters throwing a plastic bottle that struck Fiorentina captain Cristiano Biraghi.
However, the match was ultimately decided in dramatic fashion as Bowen sprinted past the Fiorentina defense to receive a superb pass from Lucas Paqueta and calmly slotted it past Pietro Terracciano to secure the victory.
The Hammers fans, who far outnumbered their allotted 5,000 tickets, were thrilled by the result, and manager David Moyes charged down the touchline in celebration as he lifted his first major trophy of his career and also his first since the 2013 Community Shield at Manchester United.
The results also means that West Ham are back in Europe for a third consecutive season as they automatically Qualify for the Europa League.
Meanwhile, Florentina Suffers another major final Defeat having narrowly lost the Coppa Italia Final to Inter Milan in May.
