Despite their loss to Manchester City, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta maintains that there is still “everything to play for” in the Premier League title race.
On Wednesday night, City hammered the Gunners 4-1, a game that might decide the title fight for this season.
The Gunners are still in first place, but after four games without a victory, City are now only two points behind them and still have two games in hand.
As the season nears its conclusion, City, on the other hand, are in unbeatable shape.
Despite a fantastic season, Arteta’s team may suddenly end up without a trophy, but the Spaniard still thinks there is still plenty to play for.
He remarked exclusively to talkSPORT:
“I have to congratulate City first. The game was won by the superior team without a doubt, and we should be disappointed with the way we played, especially in the first half”.
“They got out of those red regions and attacked us in wide places because we practically lost every single duel we had there”.
“We allowed [Erling] Haaland to get through on goal after giving up a set play and a throw-in in our own half”.
“To win a game like that, it’s not even close to enough.
“It’s time to take stock, accept the result as well as the fairness of the outcome and performance, and then move on”.
“There is Still everything to play for” Arteta said.
Both teams will now turn their attentions to the final few games of the season.
Arsenal are at home to Chelsea, while Manchester City travel to Fulham.
