Marco Asensio is set to leave Real Madrid when his contract expires in the summer.
Despite being in talks with Madrid since December, Asensio has apparently chosen to leave the Santiago Bernabeu despite the club’s offer to extend his current contract.
The 27-year-old moved to Madrid from Mallorca in 2015, but he was never a sure bet to start in the nation’s capital.
The winger have only started 17 games in all competitions this season with 15 coming from the La Liga and two from the Champions League.
The winger has decided to continue his career elsewhere and is anticipated to have a wide range of options this summer.
One of the teams rumored to be interested in him is Paris Saint-Germain, and clubs from England and Italy, including Unai Emery’s Aston Villa, are also reportedly interested.
Asensio will be hoping to play when the Spanish powerhouses take on Sevilla in La Liga on Saturday, followed by their last game of the season against Athletic Club at the Bernabeu.
The Spanish international has made 285 appearances for Madrid, scoring 61 goals and Providing 32 assist. He has also won 17 trophies at the club.
