Sadio Mane has been suspended till further notice according to reports coming from Bayern Munich.
The Senegalese has been excluded from the club’s squad for their game against Hoffenheim on Saturday.
This follows allegations that Mane punched his teammate, Leroy Sane, in the face after their 3-0 loss to Manchester City in the Champions League on Tuesday at the Etihad Stadium.
According to sources, the two players had to be separated by their teammates after the incident.
Bayern has cited “misconduct” as the reason for dropping Mane from the squad and has confirmed that he will be fined.
The German newspaper Bild reported that Mane, who formerly played for Liverpool and has been named African footballer of the year twice, was unhappy with the way Sane spoke to him after the defeat.
Mane was collected privately from the airport upon his return to Germany, while Sane took the team bus.
Neither player has publicly commented on the alleged altercation.
Bayern will face Manchester City in the second leg of their quarter-final next Wednesday.
