Nigerian singer Cynthia Morgan has responded to the circulation of old pictures of herself and Burna Boy on social media.
The pictures were accompanied by claims that she was more prominent than Burna Boy because he once appeared in her music video.
Cynthia Morgan took to her social media page to clarify the situation regarding the photos after Davido stated in a recent interview that Burna Boy is one of the new Afrobeat artists to watch out for.
This statement triggered reactions not only among netizens but also among fellow Afrobeat artists who felt it was disrespectful of Davido to include Burna Boy in his list of up-and-coming Afrobeat singers.
In response to the statement on her Instagram story post, Cynthia Morgan clarified that the information being spread alongside the photo, which was taken during the shooting of one of her music videos in 2015, is misleading.
She emphasized that Burna Boy was already more successful than her back in 2015.
Additionally, she warned the person responsible for spreading this misinformation to stop doing so.
She wrote: ”
FYI burna boy was bigger than
me in 2015. Ya’ll stop capping
with my name.”
