Scott Parker has been dismissed from his position as Club Brugge’s Manager after 12 Games In Charge.
Despite having previously managed Bournemouth and Fulham, Parker only managed to secure two wins in 12 matches with the Belgian champions.
This poor run of form culminated in a devastating 5-1 defeat to Benfica in the second leg of the Champions League last 16, leading to the club’s elimination from the tournament with a 7-1 aggregate score.
Following this result, the club released a brief statement on Wednesday announcing that Parker is no longer their head coach.
Prior to joining Club Bruges, Parker had started the season as manager for Bournemouth in the Premier League but was fired after just four games.
He was appointed as Club Bruges manager on December 31, 2022, and managed his first game on January 8, 2023. Despite reaching the knockout stages of the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history, Parker’s side currently sits in fourth place in the Belgian top flight, 21 points behind the leaders Genk.
Last season, Parker led Bournemouth to promotion to the Premier League, but his tenure with the club came to an end following a 9-0 loss to Liverpool in August 2022.
