Leeds, on the other hand, faced a daunting task to avoid relegation. They remain out of the relegation zone on goal difference, but will have to show more attacking intent in the next few weeks.
Elsewhere, Chelsea under interim manager Frank Lampard, secured their first Premier League win since his return by defeating Bournemouth by 3-1.
The win was secured by two late goals from Benoit Badiashile and Joao Felix, after Conor Gallagher scored early.
Bournemouth’s relegation remains a possibility with three games left, while Chelsea sits 11th in the table.
At White Hart Lane, Tottenham ended their four-game winless run with a 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.
Harry Kane scored the only goal of the game with a header, becoming the second-highest goalscorer in Premier League history, surpassing Wayne Rooney.
The win moves Spurs to sixth place, although they have played three more games than Brighton, who face Everton on Monday.
Tottenham’s interim manager Ryan Mason secured his first win, while Palace’s Roy Hodgson suffered his second loss in seven games since returning to management.
The final game of the hour saw Wolves defeat Aston Villa by 1-0.
