Enyimba secured their ninth Nigeria Premier League title with a 1-1 draw against Rivers United On Sunday, at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
Ekene Awazie gave Enyimba the lead six minutes before halftime, but Nyima Nwagua equalized for Rivers United just three minutes after the break.
The people’s Elephant finished on top the NPFL Super Six playoffs standings with nine points from five games, and they will also participate in the CAF Champions League next season.
Remo Stars came in second with the same number of points but an inferior goal difference, which means they will also participate in the CAF Champions League for the first time.
Meanwhile, Rivers United finished in third place and earned a place in the CAF Confederation Cup.
