Former Manchester United and England defender, Rio Ferdinand has advised In demand Midfielder, Jude Bellingham to choose his old club over rivals Liverpool.
According to a Manchester United legend, the Red Devils are on the rise while their archrivals Liverpool have hit a plateau in terms of success. As a result, rising stars such as Bellingham would be better off joining Manchester United rather than Liverpool.
In an interview with the BBC, Ferdinand explained that if you compare the two teams on a graph, it’s clear that Manchester United’s trajectory is going up while Liverpool’s progress has slowed down. Although he doesn’t think Liverpool are declining, he believes that other teams are catching up and could potentially surpass them.
“Suppose I am a football player, such as Jude Bellingham or Declan Rice, both of whom are highly sought-after English midfielders and are likely to move clubs this summer. If someone were to ask me which club I would choose between Manchester United and Liverpool, I would have to put aside any previous allegiance I may have had with Manchester United and choose them at this moment“.
“This decision is based on several factors, including the team’s current form, the way the squad is developing, the abilities of the respective managers to steer their teams towards success, and my perception of which club is more likely to achieve success in the near future. Hence, I believe that Manchester United would be the better choice for me.”
Bellingham’s next destination is not decided yet but a move to one of the European Elite Club is definitely on the cards very soon.
