Midfielder Phil Foden of Manchester City will soon make his foot injury comeback, but defender John Stones will be out for up to a month, according to manager Pep Guardiola on Friday.
When second-place City visits Tottenham on Sunday, Foden will be a candidate to play.
Regarding the playmaker’s availability for this weekend, Guardiola responded, “Yes, I believe so. “He has worked out hard for the past two days.”
The injury was received by the England international during City’s 2-1 loss to Manchester United on January 14.
Stones will be missed for the upcoming several weeks as City tries to catch up to Arsenal in its Premier League championship defense.
The first half of England’s 1-0 victory over Arsenal in the FA Cup last Friday caused the center back to injure his hamstring.
For Stones, Guardiola predicted a three- to one-month wait: There are, regrettably, many games.
