Antonio Conte has responded to the critics he received from Richarlison earlier this week and the Italian manager claimed that he was not been referred to by the Brazilian attacker.
It was a challenging week for the Italian manager at Spurs, as his team was eliminated from both the FA Cup and Champions League knockout stages within a week, with a disappointing 1-0 loss to low-ranked Wolves in the middle. Many critics were harsh, including one of his own players.
Following their exit from Europe at the hands of Milan on Wednesday, Richarlison criticized Spurs’ terrible season, describing as “Sh*t”and specifically called out Conte for leaving him out of the game for most part of it.
However, the Italian coach has since clarified that in the interview, the Brazilian player was actually referring to his own subpar performance this season – and Conte concurs with him.
“I have listened to the full interview and I can tell you that he (Richarlison) was not referring to me”. Conte said during his press conference earlier today.
“He (Richarlison) said his Season has been sh*t and he is not far from the truth”
Tottenham are back in action this weekend, they Host Nottingham Forrest in the Premier League on Sunday.
