Controversial media personality and Celebrity critic, Daniel Regha, took to his Twitter page to give reasons why former media personality Abbas Ray Hushpuppi known as Hushpuppi who was arrested for fraud in June 2020 should get life imprisonment for his crimes.
Daniel Regha who is known for having a sharp mouth on Twitter and giving his opinions on any topic he likes said Hushpuppi is a nuisance to society and it would be unfair if he gets anything less than a life sentence for the lives he ruined through the crimes he committed.
He further advised the EFCC to swing into action and get rid of internet fraudsters in Nigeria known as Yahoo boys permanently.
He wrote ” Hushpuppi deserves nothing but a life sentence, anything less is an unfair punishment for his crimes; Just like every other yahoo boy, he’s a nuisance to society & making an example of him will serve as a lesson. The EFCC should also try getting rid of yahoo boys, (permanently).
Why Was Hushpuppi Arrested in 2020?
On the 10th of June 2020, Former media personality Hushpuppi who was famous for always flaunting his lavish lifestyle on social media got arrested in Dubai by the Dubai police command for money laundering and other financial-related crimes involving 12 other companies.
Details of Hushpuppi Crimes
According to a report provided by the National, Security operatives in UAE arrested 40-year-old Mr Abbas Ray Hushpuppi and 12 others for obtaining money from unsuspecting victims through fraudulent means.

“They would send out letters from email addresses almost identical to those of legitimate companies targeting customers of these companies with the purpose of diverting payments to themselves,” said a senior prosecutor quoted by the paper.
“Initial information includes that he was part of this gang which fraudulently obtained cash and cars from people.
“His statement was taken by the prosecution but this is just the beginning of prosecution investigations.
Hushpuppi was later flown to the US after his arrest in June 2020 and July 2021 during his hearing, he pleaded guilty to the charges against him and was ordered to stay in custody pending his sentence.
