Arsenal defender, Benjamin White says he would have become a full time gardener if he did not play Football.
During an interview with Arsenal tv, the 25-year-old talked about his career, ambitions, and possible alternative profession if he hadn’t been a footballer.
White revealed that he would likely have followed his father’s footsteps as a gardener. He said that his father used to work in this profession and there was never any pressure on him to become a footballer.
“I’d probably be working with my dad as a gardener if I wasn’t a footballer. He used to be a gardener. I never felt any pressure, if it did not work out as a footballer, I would still be happy being a garderner” he revealed.
White continued, “I went into football, but it would have been no problem for me to do what my dad did. I never used to watch football while growing up too.
If it was on when I was a kid, after five minutes I would get tired of watching it. I didn’t really watch it. I’d much rather do it. Even now, I don’t watch football that much, especially when other teams are playing.”
To elaborate, he added, “I only watch some of my videos so that I can see where I need to improve on my game, but I do not watch football games for the fun”
White scored his first Arsenal goal last Saturday in their dramatic 3-2 victory over Bournemouth as the Gunners maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.
