Leicester City Forward, Kelechi Iheanacho is set to miss the rest of the season due to an injury sustained during the team’s 1-1 draw against Leeds United on Tuesday.
In a press conference on Friday, the Foxes’ manager, Dean Smith, revealed the extent of Iheanacho’s injury, stating that he has suffered a tear in his adductor muscle.
According to Smith, “He’s out for a number of weeks, and while I’m not ruling him out for the rest of the season, it’s certainly going to be a tough ask to get him back in time”.
“We will do everything we can to support him and help him recover as quickly as possible, but it’s a significant injury, and we need to make sure that he is fully fit and ready to play again before we rush him back onto the field.”
With Iheanacho’s absence, Leicester City will need to rely on other players to step up and fill the gap in the remaining matches of the season.
The Nigerian has scored two goals in his last three games for the Foxes as they battle to stay up in the Leaue this season
