It appears that Kalidou Koulibaly’s time at Chelsea is coming to a close as he has reportedly reached an agreement with a Saudi Arabian club.
In the meantime, Chelsea’s acquisitions are expected to continue, while Mauricio Pochettino is also seeking to reduce his squad ahead of the next season.
Koulibaly may be the first player to depart this summer, following in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, who have also made moves to the Middle East.
Although personal terms have been agreed, negotiations between the two parties regarding the transfer fee are still ongoing, as Koulibaly’s contract with Stamford Bridge runs until 2026.
Unlike Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad, who secured Ronaldo and Benzema’s services for free, Al-Hilal will have to pay a transfer fee.
All indications suggest that Koulibaly will be playing in Saudi Arabia next season, but for now, he is taking some much-needed time off.
