Lazio striker,Ciro Immobile was involved in a tram-related car accident close to the Stadio Olimpico.
The center-forward’s involvement in a crash that caused his car to be essentially “destroyed” has been confirmed by numerous media in Italy.
According to Italy 24, the mishap took place in Rome, close to Ponte Matteotti, which is only five minutes away from the Stadio Olimpico, the home of Lazio.
Despite only one person being transported to the hospital, Immobile is alleged to have hurt his arm, according to Corriere dello Sport.
Reports also has it that Immobile may have fractured his shoulder and also states that his two daughters were in the car, citing reports from Italy.
Although all three were sent to a hospital, there are no reports of significant injuries.
Immobile allegedly informed onlookers that the tram “went through a red light” before colliding with his car.
As heard in social media footage, he claimed: “The tram ran a red light. Fortunately, I’m okay; my arm merely hurts a little”. He said
Immobile accompanied the injured person to the ambulance and inquired on their health.
Immobile, who is still Lazio’s captain, has scored 12 goals across all competitions this season.
Their next game is against Torino next weekend, so they will be hoping for a quick recovery.
