Manchester United defender, Luke Shaw has committed his future to the club by signing a new four-year contract until June 2027.
This means that the 27-year-old will have been at Old Trafford for over a decade, having joined from Southampton in 2014.
Under the guidance of manager Erik ten Hag, Shaw has enjoyed a fantastic season, featuring in 36 matches across all competitions, scoring once and providing six assists.
Expressing his excitement about the new deal, Shaw said:
“It’s been nine years since I joined this amazing club, and I’m thrilled to be extending my stay. Since arriving in Manchester, I’ve grown significantly, both as a player and as a person, and I understand what it takes to succeed at a club like this.
We’re just starting our journey with the new coaching staff, and we’ve already achieved success this season, but we’re aiming for much more.
There’s a fantastic opportunity to build something special here, and I’m fully committed to doing everything I can to help us achieve that goal.”
Shaw had made 249 appearances for Manchester United since joining in 2014, and has also been capped 29 times by England.
