Manchester City have submitted a planning request For a £300 million expansion of Etihad Stadium.
By enlarging the North Stand, the club hopes to raise the venue’s 53,400 maximum capacity to 60,000.
A sky bar with a view of the field and a stadium roof walk are two ideas.
The application to Manchester City Council also includes proposals for a 400-bed hotel, new club shop, and 3,000-capacity fan zone.
The project, according to the club, would provide a “best-in-class fan experience and year-round entertainment and leisure destination” and would take three years to complete.
Following consultations with fans and the neighborhood, the planning application was submitted.
City claims that the proposals will spend more than £300 million in east Manchester and may lead to the creation of 2,600 jobs, with Greater Manchester residents receiving preference.
Additionally, there are plans to build new offices for companies that want to cooperate with the club and its partners.
The 2002 Commonwealth Games required the construction of The Etihad, which has been the home of the Premier League winners since 2003.
With 6,000 additional seats installed in 2015, the stadium now has the fifth-largest capacity among Premier League stadiums.
